I grew up in the 1980’s. For as long as I can remember, music had always been around me. Everything from watching movies on TV, to listening to the radio in the car, listening to the radio at home, and of course, there was MTV which at the time, was 99% music videos only.

Changes and developments in technology and the music industry have made it easier to record your own music. However, competition to be heard and reviewed by key voices within the industry is still tough. Making money from sales of photography is tougher still especially for the new bands who are unsigned and do not have the support of a record label.

The power of inspiration lies in pushing you to conquer your fears. Most of us are afraid of failure. We are not afraid to take up a task. We are just afraid that we might not be able to do it well. Self-doubt and low self-esteem lead to such an assumption. When you are truly inspired, there is no room for doubt. You know you have covered all the bases and have done everything to the best of your ability. Even if you fail at your endeavor, a truly inspired being will pick up the broken pieces and start over. Also, the valuable lesson learned from the undertaking will be forever etched in his memory.

If you have access to a computer and can go online, the next tip is to look around on the internet for music that can help you. There are numerous sites available, some even geared specifically for meditative music. Many of these sites offer free samplings, or even free downloads. This way you can transfer the music directly to your iPod or other personal listening device.

Are you sending your music to a music supervisor for a film or TV placement? Are you sending it to a label for a record deal? Are you sending it to a venue owner to get a gig? Are you sending it to a critic for a review?

Then there is the obvious influence that music has on the way you feel. I do not know about you, but I could not survive a single day without music. You could say that I am a music junkie. Music plays with our emotions (in a good way). It makes us more human. It brings us laughter, joy, and sometimes it brings us tears. Music reflects our emotions, if you are angry you listen to heavy music like heavy metal for instance, and if you are feeling down, you listen to the blues for example.

Numerous websites today allow you to easily download free sheet music for piano. However, finding websites which have quality sheet music typically requires a bit of digging. Things used to be so much less troublesome when books existed as it was easier to tell which edition was good and which was bad. By understanding how a piece of music is composed, you’ll become better at picking out the quality pieces of sheet music from the mediocre ones.
