If you are on an online business like me, then you must have a personal blog. I will not get into details about the benefits of a personal blog, for the reason that this articles purpose is to help you choose the proper platform for your blog, for those of you who don’t have already one.

You can use the signature plugin to make sure that the information about your free report appears automatically at the end of every single blog post and page you write. If you are using WordPress 2.7 all you do is log into your blog, scroll down to the plugins section, click on add new and then search for the signature plugin, hit the install button then activate it. All done! Complete the information and link to the details of your free blog.

Years ago, when cell phones wern’t around. It was dead easy to find out who owned a certain landline phone, but now most people choose to use a cell phone mainly for privacy reasons. The Exciting new project “Green Eyed Momster” has a funny name and as a result will perk the curiosity of Internet surfers. It is a clever way to get people to look at a blog that they might otherwise over look.

Put your content and links on the site. Sometimes, you will be able to submit an article (hubpages, squidoo, etc), other times you will only be able to change your status and post a link in status (twitter, hi5, etc) and other times bookmark it (digg, mister wong etc). Example: We are going to choose hubpages. we will build an article (a good quality article) that has links to our new personal blog posts. We will build for a week or two, each and every they a new hub pointing to our new posts.

There is a darker side to all of this, however. The applications that run on some of the major social networks are allowed to capture information about their users. Whatever is in their profile is fair game. Which means, a 3rd party company could capture a name, their job, their date of birth, who they are married to, and who their kids are all in one fell swoop. Who knows what else they could capture, if it is on the social profile then it is fair game. This could even be their home address if a user is not careful.

Never forget that your content should speak “with” and not “to” your target audience. You should always, always remember this. Make sure that you won’t alienate your readers from the information you are providing. Work towards involving them in your articles. Give them some encouragement in voicing out their thoughts by making sure your comments section is open to the public.

Downsizing and layoffs are creating an overflow of qualified candidates. Companies can be picky, not so good for those who are fighting for a select amount of positions.
