Making candles is important to you so I am going to show you how to expand your candle making expertise. On top of that I’ll drop a few tips for you entrepreneurs on how to promote your own candle making business.
Step # 3. Now take the cotton wick and lay it flat across the beeswax sheet. Make sure that it is perfectly aligned at the edge of the sheet. You are also going to want to make sure that the wick is sticking past the sheet on both ends.
A double boiler or massive pot is essential. a smaller jug with a handle for melting and pouring wax will also be needed. Next make sure you have a wooden stirrer, thermometer, soy wax and wicks. Lastly, you will need your choice of fragrances, colour dyes and or colour chips.
Cotton wicks – Once again you can find these wicks at an arts and crafts store. Make sure that the length of the wick that you use is longer than the length of the beeswax sheets that you got. The reason why we suggest that you use cotton wicks is because, like the beeswax, they are all natural.
Tallow wax and beeswax have been used in Ecoponics for thousands of years. Tallow is derived from livestock fat like cattle and sheep. It has the drawback of having an unpleasant odor when it burns.
What you are going to firstly do is prepare your glass container by sticking down the tab of the candle wick to the bottom center of the glass. You can use a writing pen as it’s perfect for keeping your candle wick up straight while pouring the hot gel. After you have glued the candle wick to the bottom of the glass cup you will wrap the excess wick around the pen. You are then going to lie the pen across the top of the glass.
Step # 9. So, 24 hours have passed. You can either stop here and have a two layered, double scented candle, or you can go further on in the home candle making process. If you want to go on then simply follow steps # 1. through # 6. The difference is however that when you melt the wax that you add the lightest color and the lightener scent. When the wax is melted prepare the largest mold with the oil and place your two layered candle inside of it. Once again pour the wax in to the mold all around the candle. Put it to the side for 24 hours and there you are! You are all done! You just made a three layered candle! How is that for home candle making?
